What is an Anodyne?

These are herbs that will relieve and soothe pain (are synonymous with Analgesics). Other actions that will have this effect are Hypnotics and those herbs which contain opiates.

How do Anodynes Work?

Through various mechanisms but primarily by lessening sensitivity of the brain or the nervous system and causing analgesia.
